Restaurant caught selling endangered tarantula tacos

A restaurant in Mexico City has been shut down after it started selling a 500 pesos (£21) taco made with a scorched tarantula, rather than the usual seasoned beef. However, the Mexican red rump tarantula is listed as an endangered species, leading to authorities to seize a number of spiders and close the restaurant.

Barber pepper sprayed after bad haircut

A German man has been detained after he allegedly was so unhappy with his haircut, he returned to the barber shop and pepper sprayed the hairdresser responsible. The man has been charged with dangerous assault and violation of the Explosives Act. The 52-tear-old barber and a 23-year-old assistant are expected to make a full recovery.

Cyclist rides 1,400km to win 100km race

A Canadian cyclist has reportedly ridden 1,400km to get to, then win, and then return from a bicycle race in Quebec. With no other way to attend the race, 31-year-old Kyle Messier rode 650km in three-and-a-half days from his home town to the site of the race, won the 100km race, and then rode three-and-a-half days to return home.
